Is it possible in Silverlight to stream a live video screencast of the desktop? -

I would like to develop a web conferencing system (or web class) as a graduate project /

Which is a Java applet.

I do not know what is possible for Java applets to perform on PC, it is also possible for Silverlight, or more restricted to SLL.

There are two functions (which are related to me) iVocalize which I would like to include in my SL application, which are:

  1. A participants have a live desktop Broadcast the video stream to other participants so that they can follow all the activities done on the computer.
  2. A participant can take a snapshot of the desktop

If the first functionality is not possible in SL, then do you think WPF can be used instead is?

Thank you very much.

  1. Actually, you can use the silver light 4 webcam features
  2. With Silverlight 4, you can develop full-confident Silverlight apps that users can capture snapshots of the desktop.
