java - Modifying POM settings from plugin code -

I have just started writing Maven plugins and wondering what Pom.xml Changing an artifacts version number for the file example. Line is being modified with the exception, I want to preserve the remaining formatting in the XML file. I'm going to start doing this manually through Java Daum libraries, but if there is a Maven feature on it / square, there is a need to check first.
