why CSS dropdown menu makes content jump down? What fixes this? -

I am working on a pure CSS dropdown menu. (Ii 6 is not important for me anymore.)

I have a subconscious inside a "cover" device.

The page has 4 divisions within the # # repeater # first "#topbar", the second "# nav", the third "#content" box and the fourth, a "#footer".

"#content" and "#footer" are full positions to prevent the divisions from being jumped up when one submenu is revealed. It works in IE8 and Chrome and FF, but IE8; Compatibility mode indicates that IE7 will render "#content" and "#footer" div on the left side of the centered column. In addition, the full position is used to place it in the bottom of the page, removing it can fix the IE7 bug, but when submenus is revealed, it causes everything to move down.

Is there a way to fix the margin left on the lower left without the bottom of IE7? either with?

I like pure CSS.

Edit:

Believe it or not, I am using a bunch of span elements, ul or not div. Should I use ul / li structure? I think this extra code is

If IE6 is not important, do you have IE7 Have also thought?

Anyway, because you did not post your codes, you must put a quick fax and keep it under the other CSS definitions / links.
